Our card payment provider Thirdweb occasionally requires extra checks.

You will only need to do this on your first collection, all subsequent collections should be super smooth as intended.

Why?

Supercollector is recording your payment to the artist on a blockchain (the well respected Optimism OP Mainnet, an affordable Layer 2 of Ethereum). Blockchains run off their own cryptocurrency and in order to register the actual amount you sent to the artist in a permanent and public way, we need to convert your payment into cryptocurrency (the artist then changes it back into their local currency, either manually or using an automated service of their choice). It is worth noting that this is explicitly different to taking your payment in local currency and then registering you as a song collector, in this scenario you have no permanent historical record of valuing music at a certain level.
